The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Source evaluate and select suppliers for raw materials components and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing terms and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
• Generate and manage purchase orders ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply and quality.
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or production schedules.
• Resolve issues related to supplier performance quality and delivery discrepancies.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement functions (e.g. SAP Oracle).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes materials and components.
• Demonstrated success in supplier sourcing evaluation and relationship management.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with engineering drawings or manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in an ERP/MRP system for supply chain optimization.
• Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g. CSCP CPIM CPSM).
