Key Responsibilities

• Source evaluate and select suppliers based on quality cost and delivery performance.
• Negotiate pricing terms and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
• Create issue and manage purchase orders from requisition through delivery and invoice resolution.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to ensure timely material availability while minimizing excess stock.
• Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key suppliers.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.
• Proactively manage supplier performance including on-time delivery and quality metrics.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) for procurement functions.
• Strong negotiation supplier relationship management and contract management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications blueprints or engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated understanding of supply chain principles inventory management and cost reduction strategies.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP Oracle or Epicor.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Demonstrated success in cost reduction projects or value engineering initiatives.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or technical specifications.
