Key Responsibilities

• Identify evaluate and select new suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Negotiate favorable pricing terms and contracts with suppliers.
• Generate and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize carrying costs.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to forecast material needs.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
• Resolve discrepancies and issues related to supplier performance quality and delivery.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement or buying within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and inventory management.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze costs forecast demand and manage inventory effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management Business Engineering or a related field.

Bonus Qualifications

• Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with international sourcing logistics and customs regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings blueprints or specifications.
• Proficiency with advanced features of ERP/MRP systems (e.g. reporting system optimization).
