Job Summary

The Opportunity

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary needs of our residents ensuring they receive appealing meals in a welcoming atmosphere.

As a Dietary Aide at AgeCare reporting to the Director or Dietary Manager you will play a key role in ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. You will assist with the setup preparation serving and cleanup of all meal services.

What You Will Do

Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.

Assist in the setup and preparation for service of various items such as beverages salads desserts etc.

Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.

Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each seating as required.

Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.

Assist with catering and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.

Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.

Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.

Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.

What You Bring

Food Handlers Certificate is required

Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.

Must have or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.

Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.

Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a criminal background check) or be willing to obtain one.
