Our client is seeking a proactive senior operations engineer who excels at maintaining mission-critical systems that power service and repair package distribution across global customer channels!

Manage incident resolution system health monitoring and DevOps operations for AWS microservices architecture supporting Service Inclusive and Repair Inclusive products!

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem-solver with DevOps experience who thrives in shift-based environments brings strong troubleshooting skills in serverless computing and microservices collaborates effectively with international agile teams and demonstrates commitment to maintaining SLA compliance and operational excellence!

Senior operations engineering with AWS microservices and DevOps

Service products operations role with incident and change management

POSITION: Contract: 01 January 2026 31 December 2028

EXPERIENCE:6-8 Years related experience

COMMENCEMENT: 01 January 2026

LOCATION: Hybrid: Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office rotation

TEAM: Service Products / Distribution & sale of Service Inclusive and Repair Inclusive packages through different distribution channels for different product types and customer segments.

Qualifications/Experience

  • IT Degree and/or relevant qualifications
  • DevOps role experience preferred

Essential Skills Requirements

  • Solid understanding of Incident Problem and Change Management
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Debugging remote services
  • Serverless Computing
  • Microservice Architecture (AWS preferred)

Advantageous Skills Requirements

  • Agile methodology
  • Atlassian tools: Jira Confluence
  • Ability to read interpret and follow Java code
  • AWS Practitioner training and/or certification
  • Logging and tracking tickets to external support
  • Troubleshooting deployments
  • Understanding of German language

Role Requirements

  • Where required interpret documents from German to English
  • Action and resolve IM (Incident Management) tickets
  • Action and resolve CIM (Critical Incident Management) tickets as required
  • Raise and lead PM (Problem Management) tickets as identified
  • Action and coordinate CM (Change Management) tasks and tickets as required
  • Perform daily system health checks
  • Ensure systems are operational according to SLAs
  • Draw KPI Reports and report to stakeholders on a monthly basis
  • Adhere to the PIC processes (Problem Incident & Change Management)
  • Perform daily operations tasks and end user support
  • Creation of pertinent test documentation
  • Conduct Ops Basic Training
  • Enable end user knowledge transfer and training
  • Work closely with Agile Masters Developers Product Owners and various global stakeholders in the feature teams
  • Provide general assistance to the Operations team and end users
  • Co-ordinate all TLM topics with feature teams timeously
  • Ensure stability and availability of all infrastructure to support feature teams
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work interdependently as well as independently and to submit deliverables on time and with excellent quality
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with both technical and non-technical colleagues / users
  • Have good presentation skills
  • Self-starter
  • Above-board work ethics
  • Flexibility to take up different tasks in the project
  • Ability and willingness to coach and give training to fellow colleagues and users when required
  • Willing and able to travel internationally
  • Willing and able to work shifts after hours and on public holidays
