We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with strong expertise in UAV platforms to join our growing aerospace engineering this role you will be responsible for the design integration testing and optimisation of complex unmanned aircraft systems. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver cutting-edge UAV solutions for defence commercial and industrial applications.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead system-level design architecture definition and requirements development for UAV platforms
- Integrate avionics propulsion communications sensors and payload subsystems
- Conduct system modelling performance analysis and risk assessments
- Oversee hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) ground testing and flight test campaigns
- Support certification documentation and compliance activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues throughout the product lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with software mechanical electrical and flight operations teams
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters in Systems Engineering Aerospace Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience working with UAV systems or other aerospace platforms
- Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies (e.g. MBSE and V-Model)
- Experience with the integration of avionics sensors RF systems autopilots and communication links
- Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB/Simulink DOORS or SysML
- Knowledge of airworthiness standards (e.g. DO-178C DO-254 MIL-STD or relevant civil UAV regulations)
