The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities employs over 1900 staff and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products Solutions and Services. Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications including power generation transmission and distribution oil chemical and gas industrial manufacturing semiconductor and data centers as well as building and transportation sectors.

How youll make an impact

1. You will be leading and managing complex projects and coordinating work of multi-location and cross-functional project team/s. Motivating and monitoring internal and/or external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.

2. You will be managing the cost schedule and performance objectives of the projects or programs. Managing interdependencies between projects in order to realize specified benefits. Ensuring appropriate requirements within a program by partnering with relevant business unit/s or other customers and will be ensuring understanding of stakeholders requirements and expectations fulfillment.

3. You will be ensuring appropriate project management processes and methodologies are applied during project execution that influence activities and targets. Effectively organizing monitoring and controlling activities to ensure achievement of planned stage-gates and efficient utilization of available resources. Monitoring and controlling program cost and financials. Reporting to and taking directives from steering committee.

4. You will be ensuring transparency around change requests unforeseen results/events and identified risks and ensuring that they are properly managed and communicated. Ensuring that all opportunities are captured and acted upon also will support R&D Project Managers. Sharing lessons learned.

5. You will be serving as the key contact for stakeholders and an escalation point for program/project issues. Effectively communicating appropriate information to stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support.

6. You will be leading in partnership with business managers steering committees product management other internal functions and external parties. Coordinating activities with product and business management also will be initiating the development of and implementing project management requirements processes methods techniques tools handbooks and guidelines.

7. You will be developing managing and expanding relationships with stakeholders internal functions Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e.g. customers universities). Providing proposals for possible partnerships.

8. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a MS or PhD in Engineering.

2. More than 2 years of experience in project management either for R&D projects or other type.

3. Desirable experience with transformers and product development.

4. Proven knowledge and experience in project management tools including gate model.

5. Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.

6. A high level of self-motivation collaborative problem-solving solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.

7. Used to teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills.

8. Fluent spoken and written English.
