As Head of Engineering you build the bridge between groundbreaking innovation and efficient series production. You turn prototypes into robust scalable products with clear processes resilient architectures and clean handovers to the line. Working closely with our CTO (Innovation) CPO (Product) and Head of Industrialization you translate requirements into actionable engineering prioritize for impact and stability and establish standards that balance quality cost and time-to-market. This ensures our robots perform reliably where it matters most: in production in the field and for our customers.
These are the tasks you will be responsible for:- Translate innovations into series-ready solutions: scalable systems engineering across mechanics electronics software and sensing with a focus on quality cost and reliability
- Define and develop functional requirements as the foundation for an integrated engineering backlog; establish clear handover processes (e.g. DFM/DFA FMEA Change Control) across Innovation Product and Industrialization
- Plan and steer maturity levels and milestones (Concept Prototype EVT/DVT/PVT Ramp-up) including risk test and release management through to stable series production
- Deliver production-ready design artefacts: CAD models drawings and interface specifications incl. tolerances and quality criteria to enable Manufacturing (work instructions industrial timings EoL/verification)
- Ensure rigorous design documentation version and configuration management and clear change control across the lifecycle
- Drive data-informed optimization across the product lifecycle (BoM yield cycle times field performance) in close collaboration with Industrialization Quality Supply Chain and Service/Remote Ops
- Lead and develop an interdisciplinary engineering team and manage external partners with clear standards a culture of ownership and fast iteration cycles

These are the qualities helping you thrive in this role:- Degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Mechatronics Electrical Engineering Computer Science Systems Engineering) or equivalent qualification
- 10 years in senior engineering roles at the intersection of development and industrialization ideally in mechatronic product systems or robotics
- Proven track record in transferring prototypes to series production (EVT/DVT/PVT ramp-up) including maturity risk and release management
- Strong systems engineering understanding across mechanics electronics embedded/software and sensing; confident in architecture and interface decisions
- Hands-on experience with DFM/DFA FMEA change and configuration management plus defining quality specifications and building test/verification strategies (incl. traceability and EoL criteria)
- Experience in building and leading interdisciplinary teams as well as managing external development partners and suppliers
- Data-driven way of working: using test production and field data for requirement verification root-cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Clear structured communication and strong stakeholder management from CTO/CPO and Industrialization to Supply Quality and Service
- Fluent English (min. C1); German is a plus
