Position Title: Registered Nurse Intermediate Care (IMCU)
Location: Utica NY (13502)
Job Type: Contract
Shift: Night Shift
Duration: 14-week assignment
Pay Rate: $60 $64/hour (Up to $2070/week)
Position Summary:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Registered Nurse Intermediate Care (IMCU)for an exciting job in Utica NY.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct IMCU-level nursing care to adult patients.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms neurological status respiratory status and hemodynamics.
Manage and troubleshoot specialty equipment including A-lines chest tubes BiPAP temporary pacing and Neptune Vapo systems.
Collaborate with respiratory therapy to care for patients with chronic ventilators.
Administer medications IV therapy and titrate drips per hospital protocol.
Perform accurate and timely documentation in EMR (EPIC required).
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition using critical thinking and clinical judgment.
Collaborate with physicians RT PT/OT case management and other interdisciplinary staff.
Float to units as required based on staffing needs.
Adhere to infection control safety protocols and hospital policies.
Participate in handoff communication and maintain continuity of care.
Maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans.
Perform other related nursing duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years IMCU or PCU experience
Travel nursing experience preferred
Experience with ventilators A-lines BiPAP chest tubes and cardiac monitoring
EMR experience: EPIC required
Preferred Experience:
Previous IMCU experience in high-acuity settings
Neuro or cardiac step-down background
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Active NY RN License (verified via NURSYS)
AHA BLS
AHA ACLS
NIHSS certification
