The role of Services Engineering GEnx Product Support Engineering (PSE) MRO Subsection Manager reports to the GEnx PSE MRO Director and works with their teams to support engines/products reliability availability maintenance safety and other performance parameters. The role impacts the teams ability to achieve service quality and timeliness of objectives and it is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

This role will be an integral part in the business priorities both internally and with strategic partnership with our airline customers and MRO shops. Leadership skills business acumen and strategic thinking will be essential in fostering a cohesive team and ensure customer this role you will be expected to develop and maintain operational excellence within the PSE Field and MRO teams and support the global PSE Directors.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Services Engineering PSE MRO Subsection Manager you will be responsible for facilitating the development and communication of PSE Field and MRO processes and business metrics for your team including but not limited to:

  • Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
  • Support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution fleet issues service bulletin implementation Monitoring & Diagnostics fleet configuration. Maintenance of fleet data outage management.
  • Manages a moderate-sized team of senior professionals as well as others. Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility including control of resources and influences policy formulation
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational product management manufacturing technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision
  • May lead to functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements risk and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others options on topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view
  • Partners with Systems Engineering and Integrated Design & Build Engineering teams as well as with our Partners CES/CX and ATMRO to ensure the product is meeting our technical and commercial commitments.
  • Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
  • Travel globally as required
  • Drive change by demonstrating clear thinking articulate roles & responsibilities managing hand-offs between different organizations
  • Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in customer/MRO facing roles.

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Experience in leading teams as a manager or a technical leader with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • MRO Shop or airline shop experience
  • Previous experience in Aviation engines / systems / aircraft / repair or turbo machinery
  • Familiar with GE Aerospace long term service agreements customer & product support role functions (CPM / CSM)
  • Previous experience working within GE RSP relationships
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple project responsibilities
  • Previous experience in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with aircraft flight operations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with customers
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
