Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness poverty and addictions. We hire people that are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome-based strategies which support personal and community transformation.
This position supports recovering and formerly homeless families living in Alcohol and Drug-Free Community (AFDC) housing by providing advocacy family mentoring and other support. The Mentor acts to ensure the stability of families and assigned properties and will be familiar with and able to access resources for residents including childcare employment assistance and training transportation and other services. The Family Mentor will be someone who is comfortable and advanced in his or her own recovery and will have a good understanding of professional boundaries and appropriate behavior. S/he will have the skills needed to support and assist residents in maintaining recovery retaining housing parenting safely and effectively and achieving self-sufficiency.
Schedule:Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm
Location: Alpha Apartments
Compensation:$23.36 - 30.37/hr
