Job Summary

Senior Accountant

Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. is seeking a Senior Accountant to prepare maintain and analyze financial records while supporting operational and compliance needs across the organization.

Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. (AGEC) is a global industry leader in the manufacturing and supply of ground support equipment (GSE) for commercial and military customers. Our OEM Division designs and produces world-class GSE supporting a wide range of military aircraft platforms while our Commercial Division distributes superior GSE equipment parts and service to MROs airline operators government agencies and aviation end users.

What you will do:

  • Manage and maintain the general ledger in accordance with company policies and GAAP requirements.
  • Play a key role in month-end and year-end close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analysis identify and resolve variances.
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules analyses and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Lead and support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Support the organization and execution of the annual physical inventory and/or cycle counting process.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new or revised accounting systems and programs.
  • Collaborates with HR to support ADP functions and serve as backup for weekly payroll processing.
  • Work independently and manage tasks with accuracy and minimal supervision.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as needed.
  • Manage and maintain the company travel platform (Concur).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Experience using SAP
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and ability to apply principles accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers vendors employees and managers.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables formulas data cleansing) and strong Microsoft office skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data/information in a confidential manner.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Prior experience with Government/Defense Contractor a plus.
  • US citizenship required.
