Senior Software Engineer (XDR Team)

About the team:

The XDR team builds and maintains Fortinets next-gen cyber-detection engine leveraging Big Data and novel ML tools to power advanced threat detection.

We focus on improving detection quality and reducing latency under challenging high-scale addition to our own projects we work closely with the broader Detection Group supporting and accelerating initiatives that intersect with our domain.

As a senior engineer on the XDR team you will need to:

• Lead product and technical designsuggest technical solutions
• Be skilled in system design and have Production environment experience.
• Implement features ideation-to-deployment
• Have strong communication skills forcross-team collaboration including Product Frontend ML and DevOps teams.
• Have a creative innovative and can-do mindset

We Are Looking For:

• 4 years of experience as a Backend and/or Data Engineer in production environments (Python - advantage)
• Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL) and non-relational
• Big Data / ETL pipeline development experience
• Experience with Snowflake/Firebolt/BigQuery or similar large-scale data platforms (Snowflake advantage)
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS advantage)
• Solid understanding of system design and data architecture principles

Advantage:

• Hands-on experience with Redis and Elasticsearch
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and real-time scalable production systems
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration
• Machine Learning experience or exposure advantage
