Your new role

Help empower LGBTIQA young people in Greater Shepparton to thrive.

As the Program Coordinator of our Being Our Best Brave youll design and lead a mix of strength-based workshops peer support activities and community engagement opportunities that help young people (1218 years) build confidence connection and a sense of belonging.

Working as part of our Youth Services team youll shape a program that reflects youth voice creates safe and inclusive spaces and supports participants in strengthening their wellbeing education and future pathways.

Youll also partner closely with the Team Lead to monitor program outcomes and share the impact this work has across the community. If youre passionate about LGBTIQA inclusion youth empowerment and creating real change wed love to hear from you.

Benefits of working at Uniting

The role is part-time (15.2 hours per week) and funded for a maximum term of 2 years. We are flexible on days except for Tuesday when we all get together in the office. Wed also consider shorter hours across three days if that works better for you.

In addition to a base salary of SCHADS Level 5 from $51 per hour super youll also receive 17.5% leave loading and can access the following:

Your skills and experience
  • An understanding of LGBTIQA young peoples needs experience in designing/coordinating youth or community programs and ability to incorporate youth voice into program content.
  • Strong stakeholder relationships across schools and services excellent communication skills and the ability to guide facilitators volunteers or peer leaders.
  • Strong organisational skills experience in monitoring program quality collecting feedback and preparing reports.
  • Commitment to inclusive culturally safe practice and alignment with Unitings values
  • A strong child-safety focus and the ability to create safe environments for young people
  • Relevant qualification (or equivalent experience) and a current Victorian drivers licence
