Summary: The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Director of Human Resources and agency directors assisting with advising on relation human resources matters.
This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition new hire orientation payroll benefits administration records management and updating changes in HRIS. The Human Resources Generalist requires self-confidence flexibility and the ability to exercise discretion. Excellent organizational skills effective time management and the ability to handle multiple tasks are a must.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist hiring managers in talent recruitment and acquisition for all exempt and nonexempt personnel interns independent consultants and volunteers.
- Assist hiring managers in posting internal agency opening notices application administration candidate screening interview scheduling interviewing and selection process.
- Develop post and manage job vacancy announcements on internet sites and varied print media.
- Conduct new employee orientation ensuring new employees understand related policies and procedures as well as philosophy and history of organization.
- Administer various human resource plans and procedures for all agency personnel. Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Maintain employee files. Ensure all personnel information is kept in an organized and secure manner for review and audit and protect organizations value by keeping information confidential.
- Safeguard personally identifiable health information (PHI) in accordance with current HIPAA standards.
- Assist Director of HR with completion of annual review and revision of employee job descriptions.
- Assist Director of HR with completion of annual review and maintain employee handbook.
- Develop and maintain employee related reports and logs; ensure compliance with all state and federal employment requirements standards and laws.
- Process employment verification requests.
- Administer/maintain agency compensation and benefits programs. Assist employees in effectively utilizing agency benefit options. Participate in open enrollment meetings and activities.
- Be a part of the processing of bi-weekly payroll. Review information for final processing.
- Initiates and monitors COBRA for affected employees.
- Implement and monitor the agency performance evaluation process.
- Maintain regular communication with the Director of HR regarding necessary information pertinent to HR systems and issues.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Maintain ethical and professional standards with staff.
- Promote collaboration with other departments and programs to ensure quality customer service.
20. Maintain favorable driving record (favorable is left to the interpretation of the employer and any agent acting on behalf of the employer.)
21. Perform other tasks/duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Physical Requirements: Repetitive movement of hands and fingers typing and/or writing. Occasional standing walking stooping kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Ability to communicate converse with and exchange information.
