Principal Engineer, Structures, REC

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Structural Engineer with 46 years of design experience capable of supporting international projects particularly in the Buildings and Industries sector. The role is based in India and involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary design teams across the Nordic regions.

The candidate should have a strong understanding of British and European design codes excellent analytical skills and hands-on experience in delivering building structures using advanced design tools and BIM workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis and design for complex building and Industrial projects in compliance with Eurocodes (EN standards) and BS.
• Develop and review structural models (BIM and FEM Analysis) calculations and drawings for concrete steel and composite structures.
• Ensure coordination with Architecture MEP and BIM teams to achieve fully integrated and clash-free designs.
• Support digital design delivery adhering to UK/Nordic project standards and QA procedures.
• Participate in technical coordination meetings with global design teams and clients.
• Prepare and review design deliverables such as GA drawings design reports specifications and design schedules.
• Assist in value engineering and ensure designs are practical buildable and sustainable.
• Support other engineers and drafters ensuring adherence to project workflows and quality expectations.
• Maintain awareness of local and international sustainability standards (BREEAM LEED etc.).

Qualifications :

• Bachelors / Masters Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 46 years of relevant experience in building structures preferably in industries and commercial.
• Strong technical knowledge and working experience with and Eurocodes (EN ) British Standards (BS).
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis software such as ETABS Stadd Pro SAFE and Robot.
• Working knowledge of Revit Structure BIM workflows and collaboration platforms (e.g. BIM360 / ACC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills in English.
• Ability to work in a global multidisciplinary environment with remote coordination.

Preferred / Desirable:

• Experience in Nordic/UK healthcare projects or public infrastructure developments.
• Understanding of sustainability and low-carbon structural design approaches.
• Progressing toward Chartered Engineer (CEng / MICE / MIStructE) status or equivalent

As our new Senior Engineer - Structures you will be part of Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) that was established as a dedicated institution for creating the excellence centre in Ramboll. REC focusses on providing global expertise using local resources from India. Facilitates cooperation between India business units in Europe and the Middle East specifically for the Buildings Transport and Water sectors.
