Job Summary
With a strong pipeline ahead in the region BESIX Watpac is seeking a Cost Planner / Estimator to join our Qld NT & NZ Estimating team preparing and compiling tenders and cost plans for project tenders and delivery.
This role will be responsible for:
- Compiling and preparing tenders and cost plans based on various forms of delivery and contracts.
- Assisting with negotiating tenders contract terms and conditions to ensure favourable outcomes and compliance with project requirements.
- Assisting project teams to prepare detailed cost plans for head contract variations and similar claims and assisting with agreement of subcontractor and consultant variations.
- Identifying risks associated with head contract tender documents.
- Reviewing tender documents and correctly allocate the appropriate trade packages for pricing.
- Preparing building quantities in a format that reflects industry practices and trends.
- Collating cost data directly from industry suppliers subcontractors and completed projects.
Qualifications :
The incumbent in this role will require:
- Degree in a relevant discipline and experience in cost planning or estimating for large building projects in a principal contractor or consultant environment.
- Clear understanding of industry construction techniques and proficient and proven skills in industry software.
- Ability to communicate influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the external and internal business environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload and delivery to deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative sound reasoning listening and decision-making skills.
