Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Mortgages the Mortgage Processor II will process mortgage loan files and assist members in submitting a completed application in accordance with established APGFCU policies and procedures as well as investor guidelines. The Mortgage Processor II will complete a general evaluation of the mortgage loan application and initial disclosures along with completing a thorough evaluation of credit income and asset documentation. The Mortgage Processor II will work closely with the member(s) loan officer and underwriter to ensure approval conditions are satisfied and work to obtain all necessary documentation required for approval. The Mortgage Processor II will use automated underwriting systems and Conventional VA USDA FHA and APGFCU Portfolio selling guides.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process mortgage loans according to established APGFCU policies and procedures and investor guidelines
  • Consistently and effectively manage a loan pipeline of up to 50 loans
  • Closely monitor loan pipeline to guarantee loan commitments are met unless attributed to member delay.
  • Review loan application initial disclosures and signed initial disclosures for completeness and accuracy
  • Review loan application credit report and AUS Findings to validate loan viability and to identify missing information and/or documentation
  • Able to analyze income asset and collateral documentation (including pre-underwriting for self-employed income)
  • Manage the placement tracking and receipt of appraisal title flood orders and Private Mortgage Insurance as needed
  • Apply knowledge of the various government forms and worksheets associated with Mortgage Financing
  • Negotiate with investor underwriters to eliminate any barriers. Partner with appraisers sales agents and third parties to procure required documentation
  • Communicate weekly loan status updates to credit union members and sets appropriate expectations for the timely return of documentation
  • Responsible for ensuring rate lock commitments are met
  • Provide courteous and expedient member service with regard to telephone inquiries mail internet or face to face interaction
  • Effectively partner with mortgage consultants and underwriters alike to accelerate loan turn-time and to enhance the member experience

STAFF SUPPORT: Provide back up support to mortgage consultants and closers as needed or in their absence.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma with two years additional specialized course/training. Associates degree preferred. Experience may be credited in lieu of education.

Additional: Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act Information Security as examples if applicable).

EXPERIENCE: Four to six years of mortgage processing experience preferred.

Consumer loan underwriting experience preferred. Knowledge of FNMA guidelines FHA VA and USDA. Able to verify income for wage earners and self-employed borrowers. Proven success in managing a large pipeline.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:History of meeting/exceeding service levels and/or production goals directly correlated to corporate and department objectives. Strong interpersonal skills building and maintaining professional relationships with co-workers and vendors. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organization and time management skills to effectively prioritize to achieve goals in spite of barriers or difficulties; pursues objectives with energy and persistence.

Compensation information: Offers are based on experience and education.

$27.72 - $34.65 hourly
