Education required: To apply for this placement you must be:
Currently studying an Undergraduate Degree in Biosciences Medical Pharmacy or Nursing.
Other requirements: You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI (Republic of Ireland) University for the duration of your placement.
If you have already graduated with a Bachelors Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters you are not eligible for this programme.
Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English
Expected Start date: September 2026
Duration: 1 year (approximately)
Salary: A salary of 27100 plus a bonus.
Workplace Arrangements: Flexible working via performance with choice (office & home working may be available)

Overview of the Department
The Oncology Managed Access team are part of the Oncology Global Medical Affairs (GMA) department. The Managed Access team is responsible for global compassionate use programs (providing medicines that are not yet available in the country to patients with serious or life-threatening illnesses who have no other suitable treatment options). These programs can be known by lots of names including compassionate use managed access or expanded access.
Key Learnings
This role will work with a very supportive GSK team that is ambitious for patients. Youll be providing operational support to health care professionals around the world ensuring GSKs medicines arrive at their institutions as quickly as possible. Youll also be connecting with a range of local medical GSK colleagues. You will learn about the country specific mechanisms which determine how patients are treated with medicines that are not yet available in their country and be directly involved in facilitating the delivery of drug to the appropriate patients. You will also learn how GSK forecasts prepares stores and distributes our medicines specifically for treating patients compassionately.
If successful you will gain experience in a growing area within pharmaceutical industry. Youll also have the satisfaction of knowing that you have been part of a team directly helping physicians and patients.
Responsibilities may include the following:
Operational support for oncology compassionate use programs
Support the development and archiving of program related documents
Attends program related meetings and captures minutes
Provides status update reports on programs
Together with the program lead support planning forecasting and management of clinical supply
Monitors vendor shipments and tracks inventory at both the depot and site level
Collate and distribute documentation required for import at a patient level to facilitate drug shipments
Supports other innovative projects initiated by managed access team
