Job Summary:
As a Supervised Visitation Worker you will provide supervision and guidance to non-custodial parents and children in a supervised visit setting. You will supervise the visit to ensure the childs well-being communicate visit restrictions and the contract agreement to the visiting parent(s) and observe interpret and accurately record all client remarks during the visitation. You will role model and/or verbalize effective parenting techniques as necessary during the visitation and communicate with a program supervisor to address questions concerns and information/messages from social workers. You will be required to complete the required documentation and relay all mandated reporting and visit concerns to designated this position you may be required to testify in court regarding visits.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five years experience dealing with youth issues such as physical and sexual abuse neglect chemical dependency.
OR
- An Associates degree in social work psychology or a similar field and a minimum of two years experience.
OR
- A Bachelors degree in social work psychology or a similar field and six months of experience is preferred.
- A valid drivers license acceptable driving record and a Motor Vehicle Check.
- Successfully meet the requirements of a background check.
- Communication crisis intervention and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of child protection issues.
- Training or employment experience in physical abuse sexual abuse neglect chemical dependency mandated reporting and parenting skills are desired. Training/experience may have been obtained in a volunteer setting school field placement or through own parenting experiences.
