We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory technical environmental and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new Electrical Designer you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal. The position will be located at Guelph Line Burlington ON.
Responsibilities:
Design photovoltaic systems including PV array sizing orientation/tilt optimization and Balance-of-System equipment sizing (inverters transformers disconnects OCPDs).
Perform electrical calculations such as DC/AC cable sizing ampacity checks for LV/MV circuits grounding design and compliance with electrical safety codes.
Develop technical drawings and documentation including site plans using GIS/AutoCAD single-line diagrams conduit/cable schedules and as-built/as-recorded drawing sets.
Use engineering software and tools (Helioscope PVsyst AutoCAD Excel-based calculators Smartsheet QuickBooks MS Office) to support design and project workflows.
Support construction and field activities by providing site instructions responding to contractor redlines and coordinating with stamping engineers.
Coordinate with clients AHJs and utilities (LDCs) facilitate technical discussions and ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met.
Provide leadership and quality assurance including cross-training peer reviews lessons learned and tracking project hours/resources.
Manage project communication recording meeting notes and hosting periodic check-ins for active projects.

The salary range for this position is $37.00. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education professional designation experience internal parity and location.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Four years of power systems engineering experience with at least one year of experience with L3 EVSE and utility-scale solar projects.
Working knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code Canadian Electrical Code Toronto Hydro and Hydro One distribution standards.
Extensive computer knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
