Who You Are
As the Head of IT youll be the central leader responsible for the stability scalability and security of Retail Media Operations. You will own the uptime of our vast customer-facing network of in-store devices. You will manage the entire lifecycle of this hardware from large-scale customer rollouts to end-of-life. You wont be just managing an IT department; youll be running the technical operations for a distributed physical-world media network you will build and lead the teams and processes that guarantee our solutions just work.
This is a hybrid position with three days per week in our Berlin office (at Alexanderplatz).
What You Will Do
IT & Infrastructure Management:
Oversee and consolidate IT operations infrastructure (network servers cloud) and security policies for Retail Media.
Collaborate with the internal corporate IT support teams ensuring our employees have the secure and efficient tools they need (e.g. O365 ERP CRM identity management)
Develop and execute a long-term IT strategy that supports business scalability M&A integration and robust security compliance (e.g. ISO 27001 GDPR)
Device Management & Field Operations:
Lead the strategy and execution for large-scale hardware rollouts to our customer locations (retail stores) managing the configuration of the devices
Implement and manage robust remote monitoring and Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems for our entire fleet of distributed devices
Service Availability & Incident Management:
Own the uptime: Design implement and enforce strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all production devices and systems
Build and lead a world-class incident management process. You will be the chief escalation point for any service-degrading issue
Ensure rapid detection escalation root-cause analysis (RCA) and resolution for all incidents
Establish and manage a clear communication protocol for all stakeholders (internal leadership account managers and customers) during critical incidents
Leadership & Financial Management:
Lead mentor and grow a high-performing multi-disciplinary team of IT professionals (covering internal support network engineering and field operations)
Manage the IT budget including forecasting for hardware procurement software licensing and operational services
Drive a culture of continuous improvement proactive problem-solving and operational excellence
What You Will Bring
Proven IT Leadership: 8 years of experience in IT with at least 4 years in a senior management role (Head of IT Director of IT Operations or similar).
Critical Field Ops Experience: You must have proven experience managing distributed customer-facing hardware networks. (e.g. POS systems digital signage ATMs kiosks or large-scale IoT device networks)
Incident Management Expert: You are an expert in ITIL frameworks especially Incident Management Problem Management and Service Level Management. You are calm and decisive under pressure
Technical Breadth: Strong background in both corporate IT (networking security cloud infrastructure) and operational technology (hardware logistics device monitoring remote management)
Project & Vendor Management: A track record of successfully managing complex large-scale hardware rollout projects and negotiating with third-party vendors and service providers
Leadership Style: A hands-on proactive leader who can build a strategy but is also willing to dive into the details of a major incident
Business Fluency: Excellent communication skills in English and German are required for collaborating with our core teams and retail partners
