About the Role:

  • Provide comprehensive evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment for adults with anxiety depressive and related disorders (e.g. OCD) in both individual and internet-based formats using cognitive behaviour therapy.

  • Supervise intern psychologists and psychiatry registrars at CRUfAD supporting their professional development clinical skills and application of CBT in practice.

  • Support the development implementation and evaluation of internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy programs at ThisWayUp Clinic and Virtual Clinic ensuring high-quality innovative digital mental health interventions.

  • Conduct support and publish applied research regarding the aetiology epidemiology nature assessment and treatment of anxiety depressive and related disorders to advance clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice.

  • Teach Cognitive Behaviour Therapy theory and skills to students intern psychologists and psychiatry registrars; provide CBT consultation and training to other CRUfAD team members fostering a culture of learning and professional development.

  • Actively promote CRUfAD programs within St Vincents Hospital the wider mental health service and the community; liaise with other team members regarding digital service provision participate in clinical peer-supervision and contribute to continuing professional development and service improvement initiatives.

About You:

  • Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and full endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia in the area of Clinical Psychology or eligible to progress to same with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.

  • Board Approved Supervisor status to supervise Provisional Psychologists and Clinical Psychology Registrars.

  • Minimum of two years post-graduate clinical experience with at least one-year post-graduate clinical experience in the area of depression and anxiety and demonstrated skills and experience in the face-to-face and web-based treatment of psychological difficulties such as depression and anxiety.

  • Ability to support the implementation and publication of research projects concerning the aetiology assessment and treatment of pathological anxiety and depression.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a demanding workload prioritise where necessary work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and be an AHPRA Board-approved supervisor (practice area clinical psychology) with the ability to present to support educate and supervise clinicians to utilise CBT.
