The SQ (South Queensland) Power team is on the lookout for our next 2026 Graduate! Based in our Brisbane office youll bring a degree in Civil Engineering and a passion for shaping the future of energy.

At GHD our SQ Power team delivers some of Australias most exciting innovative and technically challenging energy and power infrastructure projects including renewable generation transmission and distribution networks HV substations wind and solar farms BESS facilities microgrids and critical energy systems for mining water transport industrial and defence clients.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer youll contribute to the civil backbone that enables the worlds transition to clean reliable and sustainable energy.

Heres a bit more about what youll be doing:

  • Support civil design for power infrastructure across HV substations BESS plants wind and solar farms microgrids and industrial facilities.
  • Assist with earthworks design grading drainage stormwater systems pavements structural foundations and access roads.
  • Prepare civil layouts drawings 3D models calculations and engineering inputs
  • Work closely with structural electrical geotechnical and environmental teams to deliver coordinated project outcomes.
  • Participate in site assessments constructability reviews and field investigations
  • Contribute to project delivery from concept and feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
