Whats the role.

The Financial Crime Surveillance (FCS) team is part of Westpacs Risk Division and is responsible for detecting deterring and fighting financial crime. This role is part of the first line of defence for financial crime related risks such as anti-money laundering sanctions KYC and customer due diligence.

As a Risk Analyst youll play a crucial role in safeguarding our financial ecosystem. Youll handle inbound and outbound calls supporting internal stakeholders and customers in managing requests for information from the bank. You will receive and manage cases assigned by managers tackling each with a fresh perspective.

What do I need:

  • Experience within banking or financial services (desired).
  • Previous experience within Financial Crime (desired).
  • Prior customer service experience including call handling.
  • Investigative mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to interpret information and make decisions.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own case load.
  • Strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy with ability to work with multiple systems with ease.
