Position: Temp.Winter MusicalHair and Makeup Design
Location: Ellensburg High School
Reports to: Producer and ASB Coordinator
Contract Amount: $300.00

Job Summary: Oversees all aspects below and seeks out additional design expertise or support as needed in either area. Reports directly to Producer/ Head Coach. Work closely with educate and supervise all student crew in this area. Work closely with and supervise all parent and community volunteers in this area.
Essential Job Functions:
Make-up Design
- Access and research script to determine special make-up needs
- Determine colors for make-up
- Work directly with Stage Director for make-up design accuracy and special needs
- Research and create special makeup designs needed in each show with regard to directors vision
- Work closely with and supervise all student crew and parent and community volunteers in this area
- Secure make-up assistants and direct them appropriately
- Teach techniques and make-up application to all cast
- Work cooperatively with Costume Designer and Set Designer to match and compliment color hues and tones
- Check all actors for quality control before stage appearance
- Clean and assess quality of common make-up kit order and restock as needed.
- Provide training and information (flyers or memos) to all cast and crew as to price and availability of make-up products individual special requirements and application
- Order (as necessary) special make-up
- Work in cooperation with the Hair designers to achieve the desired overall look
- Create and/or print out visual representations (drawings)to share and/or post for the director makeup crew and where helpful/appropriate cast members.
- Apply special-design makeup.
- Maintain accurate accounts of spending according to budget
- Teach cast/makeup crew appropriate application techniques as needed
- Attend stage strike and clean and organize make-up room and common make-up kits and store properly.
Hair Designer
- Research appropriate design of hair for the era/show
- Plan all elements of hair for all cast with regard to directors vision
- Work closely with and supervise all student crew and parent and community volunteers in this area
- Create and/or locate special headpieces hats accessories etc as needed
- Design and research hair design for period accuracy
- Help secure Hair designers (number to be determined by the size of the cast) for the duration of the show and dress rehearsals
- Teach and assist cast in how to place and secure hats and headpieces.
- Maintain accurate accounts of spending according to budget
- Attend strike and make arrangements to return/store all hair items/accessories
Minimum Requirements:
- Must qualify to work in the proximity of children under the conditions of a WSP/FBI background check.
- Applicant is responsible for the cost of the fingerprints
