Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality volume timeliness etc.).
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage production material processes and systems create manage and reconcile manufacturing production orders determine usage rates and direct material purchasing needs. Optimize inventory and process improvements focusing on inventory turns reduction.
- Leads periodic inventory events including portions of annual physical inventory reconciles balances in ERP.
- Partner with Lean Quality and Operations teams to develop/implement strategies to integrate new product lines into the supply chain.
- Develop/execute plans with Sourcing and Engineering teams to help identify new suppliers for critical components and develop/execute plans to obtain deflationary pricing and reduce sole/single source exposure.
- Develop and execute materials/inventory projects utilizing Lean concepts including Kanban JIT PFEP and SWIP validation.
- Place purchase orders (POs) and manage on-time delivery by working with suppliers to meet required delivery dates.
- Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Develop and deliver forecasts manage/resolve problems and schedule changes. Update ERP.
- Utilize Sourcing Finance and Accounts Payable teams to resolve electronic order and billing issues. Manage and schedule inbound and outbound shipments.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own -depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college with 5 years of experience in sourcing or material planning (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in sourcing or material planning).
Desired Characteristics
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Strong working skills in SAP Ariba P2O OTM BMS and GEARS.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $90400.00 and $150500.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
