Shift Timing: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical/Orthopedic Staff RN to provide professional nursing care to patients across pre- and post-operative settings. The ideal candidate will be proficient in specialized procedures and equipment and able to deliver high-quality patient-centered care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams during night shift hours.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care and evaluate outcomes adjusting nursing care as needed.

Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and follow-up re-assessments.

Deliver age-appropriate care to young adult adult and elderly patients ensuring hemodynamic stability and physiologic function.

Maintain accurate and thorough nursing documentation including patient histories treatments and responses.
-
Provide respectful confidential and culturally sensitive care to patients and their families; act as a patient advocate.

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers assisting with procedures as needed.
-
Formulate individualized teaching plans for patients and families and evaluate learning outcomes.
-
Supervise and allocate tasks for other healthcare staff serving as a mentor or preceptor for new employees.
-
Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes processes and work environment.

Maintain patient care equipment ensure stock availability and assist in cost containment.

Adhere to medical center policies on infection control safety and personnel guidelines.

Demonstrate flexibility organization and professionalism under stressful situations.
-
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Nursing (Bachelors preferred).
-
Active RN license required.
-
CPR BLS ACLS NIHSS and EKG certifications required.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; 5 years preferred.

Experience in surgical orthopedic trauma or related specialties.

Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Pain management traction chest tube and specialized IV care.

Medication administration and transfusion therapy.
-
Use of specialized equipment including PEG G-tube J-tube and drainage systems (Jackson Pratt Hemovac Sump).

Team leadership and preceptorship abilities.
