Kitchen Assistant

Job Type: Temporary (1 to 3 months)
Hourly Rate: 12.50
Hours: 6am-2pm Monday-Friday
Location: Carlisle Cumbria

We are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant for a well-established and reputable client of ours based in Carlisle. This is a temporary position with a duration of 1 to 3 months offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Main Responsibilities:

Assisting with food preparation including washing peeling and chopping vegetables and other basic cooking tasks
Ensuring all ingredients are properly stored and organized
Assisting the chefs with setting up cooking stations and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
Cleaning dishes utensils pots pans and kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene standards
Keeping the kitchen area tidy including washing up clearing surfaces and disposing of waste
Replenishing stock and supplies in the kitchen as needed
Adhering to all health and safety and food hygiene regulations
Supporting the team with any additional tasks as required during busy periods

What We Need From You:

A strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
An understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices (training can be provided if needed)
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is ideal but not essential
A positive and proactive attitude with the willingness to learn and take on new tasks
