Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Workday Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Absence Management and Compensation to support Workday implementations enhancements and ongoing optimization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on functional configuration experience within the Workday ecosystem and will play a key role in designing implementing and supporting Workday solutions aligned with business needs.
While Absence Management is the primary focus of this role the position is not limited to these functional areas alone. Candidates with additional Workday module experience strengths and interests will have opportunities to contribute across broader Workday initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a Workday Functional Consultant with a primary focus on Absence Management and Compensation
Lead and support configuration implementation and enhancement activities for Workday modules
Collaborate with business stakeholders HR partners and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into Workday solutions
Configure business processes eligibility rules plans and policies related to Absence and Compensation
Participate in end-to-end project lifecycle activities including design build test deployment and post-production support
Conduct system testing support UAT and resolve functional issues
Prepare and maintain functional documentation configuration workbooks and solution design documents
Provide advisory support and recommend best practices within the Workday ecosystem
Support integrations and reporting as required
Continuously identify opportunities to improve system efficiency and user experience
Engage in other Workday functional areas based on project needs individual strengths and business priorities
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Workday Functional Consultant
Hands-on functional configuration experience within Workday
Experience working on at least one Workday project (or equivalent hands-on experience) related to:
Strong understanding of Workday business processes and functional framework
Experience in gathering requirements and working closely with business stakeholders
Knowledge of Workday security reporting and integrations is a plus
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Additional experience with other Workday modules such as:
Core HCM
Time Tracking
Benefits
Payroll (US or Global)
Prior experience in Workday implementations post-production support or optimization programs
Workday certifications in Absence or Compensation (preferred but not required)
Experience working in Agile or project-based environments
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Analytical and problem-solving mindset
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities beyond core functional areas
Interest in continuous learning and expanding Workday skill sets
