Job Summary
Qualifications:
- Minimum requirement of Bachelor degree in education
- Possess or be eligible for a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate special education endorsements
- Meet Highly Qualified requirements
- CPI Training Preferred
Duties:
- Responsible for planning instruction and/or adaption of the education program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences.
- Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
- Plan curriculum lessons and special education programs and teaching methods.
- Evaluate student progress based on papers submitted test scores and observation.
- Monitor student progress in and outside the special education room.
- Maintain the physical environment of the classroom.
- Maintain contact with parents of students.
- Evaluate student progress based on work output and observation determine goals objectives and directions.
- Prepare report cards educational records IEP forms classroom observation records and other forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work with IEP team to develop student behavior plan.
