We are looking for aProduction Supervisorto apply your expertise in overseeing day-to-day operations implementing best practices and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate inspire and keep your people safe and well.

Working and reporting to the ProductionSuperintendentand working in a collaborative community within a diverse team you will be:

  • Monitoring working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees. Complying with Rio Tinto and Statutory Safety requirements.
  • Responsible for providing direction employees in accordance with the production plan and business needs to achieve quality and quantities of finished goods necessary to meet customer demands.
  • Providing leadership through team building planning and setting key deliverables.
  • Interfacing with planners and fellow Supervisors to assist in continual improvement.
  • Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and soliciting input from team members.

What youll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing or production operations/maintenance or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience supervising a team.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent computer skills knowledge of MS Office Excel & SAP
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of production or manufacturing equipment including equipment troubleshooting

Where youll be working

This role is based in the Port of Los Angeles in the city of Wilmington California. This historical site is one of the oldest operations in the Port of LA some employees are third generation workers at this operation. The southern California area offers a vast array of activities for every lifestyle from camping surfing fishing hiking family parks sports arenas concerts and much more.
