Job Description

GI UW Strategy oversees the overall underwriting strategy of general insurance products ensuring alignment with TD Insurances business objectives while adhering to jurisdictional regulations. Underwriting is a determining component of our home and auto insurance products that cater to direct and affinity markets.

Reporting to the UW Strategy Manager the Actuarial Analyst plays a key role in the end-to-end execution of underwriting strategies and underwriting changes that help drive financial results while adhering to TDIs risk appetite.

Responsibilities

• Develop underwriting strategies aligned to TDI P&L objectives;
• Support the optimization of the underwriting processes with a focus on straight-through processing;
• Support underwriting expenses monitoring;
• Liaise with internal and external partners and stakeholders and contribute to building and maintaining those relationships;
• Support our business partners for underwriting related issues;
• Support junior team members;
• Contribute to the teams innovation culture to further enhance underwriting capabilities and better support business objectives

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty
• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Sciences or related field
• Acquired or working towards Associateship with the Casualty Actuarial Society Canadian Institute of Actuaries or equivalent
• Excellent knowledge of Excel
• Proficiency and interest for programming
• Advanced analytical decision-making and problem solving skills
• Client-focused and aptitude for teamwork with solid organizational and communications skills
• Autonomous and perseverant; shows initiative and creativity in their work
• Recognized for their thoroughness and the quality of their work
