Role: State Project Officer - Disaster Management Andhra Pradesh
Experience: 3-5 years
Salary: Up to 12 LPA
About the role:
This position is responsible for leading the implementation of our Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) programs at the State level. The role also involves supporting state-level preparedness activities monitoring emergency alerts and providing initial ground support to the disaster response team during relief interventions.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Program Leadership & Implementation (DRR):
- Lead the planning execution and monitoring of all DRR and disaster preparedness programs within the assigned state.
- Ensure effective implementation of the Disaster Risk Reduction plan across all project areas.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response:
- Support and coordinate preparedness activities at the State level.
- Monitor emergency alerts and provide timely initial support to the response team during disaster relief interventions.
- Act as the primary contact for the State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMA) and local government bodies.
- Community Engagement & Capacity Building:
- Oversee community mobilization activities and social development programs linked to health and disaster preparedness.
- Conduct training and utilize participatory methodologies to build community capacity for risk reduction.
- Ensure the integration of community-based Disaster Risk Reduction/Mitigation plans.
- Data Collection & Assessment:
- Manage the conduct of baseline surveys and Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessments (HRVA) in the project areas.
- Generate and maintain high-quality data and documentation related to program impact.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Produce timely and comprehensive field reports case studies and presentations on program progress and achievements.
- Maintain detailed records of all activities risks and lessons learned.
Education & Experience (Must Have):
- Educational Qualifications: Graduation or Post-Graduation in Disaster Management Climate Change Environmental Science Natural Resource Management or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience working within the Disaster Management sector.
- Contextual Experience: Experience working in both emergencies and developmental contexts is highly desired.
