The Vet Office is delighted to be recruiting for a brand-new state-of-the-art small-animal clinic opening in Portmarnock.
Located right beside the train station the clinic offers excellent access ample parking and is set within a vibrant growing coastal community perfect for anyone who enjoys a stroll on the beach before or after work.
This is a unique opportunity to join a new practice from the very beginning and play a key role in shaping its standards workflows and team culture.
The Role
The clinic is seeking an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to lead and inspire the nursing team.
This person will be central in establishing clinic protocols mentoring junior nurses and ACAs and ensuring a warm professional and welcoming environment for clients and their pets.
The ideal candidate will be:

A registered RVN with strong leadership qualities

Highly organised proactive and confident in managing a nursing team

Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care
-
Experienced in supporting and developing junior team members
-
Positive collaborative and committed to high clinical standards
About the Clinic
This brand-new purpose-built facility has been designed to the highest standards and includes:

A spacious modern waiting area
-
Three fully equipped consulting rooms
-
A modern surgical suite with a large prep room
-
Dedicated X-ray and dental suite
-
Separate cat and dog wards for enhanced patient comfort
This new clinic offers an excellent working environment with modern equipment great workflow and strong support from an experienced veterinary team.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the nursing and ACA teams
-
Help establish and implement clinic protocols and best practices
-
Ensure high standards of patient handling care and clinical nursing
-
Mentor junior nurses and contribute to their professional development
-
Oversee stock management equipment checks and nursing standards
-
Promote a welcoming professional client experience
-
Maintain a positive collaborative working environment
-
Support the veterinary team during consultations surgery and inpatient care
Requirements
-
Qualified and VCI-registered Veterinary Nurse
-
Leadership or senior nursing experience (desirable)
-
Strong organisational and communication skills
-
Ability to mentor and support junior staff
-
Commitment to excellent patient care and client service
