We are seeking a highly skilled Test Equipment Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering and 5 years of experience in designing and developing test equipment for complex aerospace or avionics systems. This role involves creating detailed design documentation developing test plans and supporting procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of test solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Documentation:
- Create block diagrams wiring diagrams harness drawings and assembly drawings for test equipment.
- Develop diagrams to support electrical power systems command and control systems RF and GPS systems.
- Design and build test equipment for avionic boxes capable of operating in thermal shock and vibration environments.
Test Planning and Verification:
- Develop acceptance test plans and verification plans for avionic rack tester equipment.
- Define and execute tests including voltage measurements and electrical signal characterization.
Procurement Analysis and Tracking:
- Utilize existing tools to track purchase orders for tester equipment.
- Perform supplier viability analysis considering ITAR compliance cost projections and schedule adherence.
- Create tracking tools or tables to support procurement status and supplier analysis.
Qualifications:
- Education: BS in Electrical Mechanical or Systems Engineering (or related field).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in test equipment design for aerospace or avionics applications.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical schematics and harness design.
- Familiarity with RF and GPS systems.
- Experience with environmental testing (thermal shock vibration).
- Tools & Standards:
- Knowledge of ITAR compliance and procurement processes.
- Ability to use CAD tools and documentation software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with avionic systems integration.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD environmental testing standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
