We currently have various opportunities forMaintenance Mechanical Fittersonsite to join our high performing Maintenance teams across our Boyne Smelter Gladstone Operations.

Reporting to theMaintenance Team Leaderfor your team your role may involve:

• Maintaining and replacing mechanical equipment

• Execution of planned and unplanned breakdown maintenance

• Troubleshooting calibrating repair and service of fixed plant assets

• Working at heights activities

• Working autonomously being reliable and positively contributing to the maintenance team understanding the requirement to maintain assets in a safe and reliable condition

• Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives which may involve working with many different disciplines within the organisation

• Promoting and identifying HSE opportunities to improve equipment processes and behaviours

• Identifying defects / support defect elimination process

What youll bring

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

• Respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset

• Valid C Class drivers licence

• An Australian A grade Electrical licence

• Instrumentation Certificate advantageous

• Working at Heights/EWP desirable

• Experienced in planned maintenance including conveyors PLC Instrumentation and other plant equipment

• Proven history of fault finding and repairs on various electrical equipment

• Proven maintenance experience working in heavy/industrial industry

Where youll be working

Boyne Smelters Limited is Australias second largest aluminium smelter with a 1000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20km south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast BSL produces around 500000 tonnes of aluminium per annum.

Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
