The Dawes Arboretum has an immediate need for a part-time (up to 23 hours per week) Guest Services Representative to join our People & Culture branch. Scheduled shifts will vary to include evenings weekends and holidays. Your purpose in this role is to provide high-quality impactful customer service whether by phone or in person. You will champion our mission by sharing accurate information/directions promoting upcoming events and providing assistance with gift shop transactions memberships and program registrations. Attention to detail ability to resolve issues and multi-tasking are just a few of the key skills essential for success in this role.
Some of the specific responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Warmly greet guests upon their arrival and ensure they feel welcomed by providing cheerful and courteous customer service whether at the Gatehouse or in the Gift Shop.
- Assist guests with admission into the Arboretum by verifying membership or accepting payment from non-members at the Gatehouse.
- Answer telephone calls and assist with questions regarding programs memberships special events natural history horticulture Dawes history and directions. Or transfer call to appropriate department for proper handling.
- Troubleshoot problems communicate effectively manage customer concerns and provide prompt follow-up to any guest.
- Operate the point-of-sale system and utilize various computer programs.
- Maintain gift shop ensuring the area is clean and stocked.

- Ability to work a flexible rotating schedule to include weekends holidays and evenings.
