Job Summary

Chief Student Advising Officer (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) in the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (Ref. 533727) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary with the possibility of renewal)

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director of Campus Life and supervise the Student Advancement & Engagement Team.
  • Formulate and direct the implementation of strategies for student engagement and advancement focusing on key outcomes such as leadership competency student success and community impact and fostering responsible citizenship a global mindset and integrity through co-curricular activities and valuable out-of-classroom learning opportunities to support students in maximizing their learning for whole person development.
  • Design deliver and assess a comprehensive suite of student development programmes with defined learning outcomes in areas such as ethical leadership community building and personal well-being.
  • Provide dedicated support for first-year students designing and implementing guidance programming and resources to facilitate their successful transition from high school to college.
  • Measure analyze and report on student engagement metrics to inform university strategy and demonstrate the impact of co-curricular learning.
  • Provide strategic oversight and support for student co-curricular activities including student clubs and societies and the amenities centre that facilitates student life.
  • Lead and coordinate the planning and execution of major university-wide student activities and campus events (e.g. new student inauguration student leader elections annual awards galas) that build campus spirit and vibrancy. Foster responsible citizenship a global mindset and integrity through co-curricular activities and valuable out-of-classroom learning opportunities supporting students in maximizing their learning for whole person development.
  • Manage the Student Enrichment and Service Learning Fund strategically soliciting and funding proposals that align with institutional priorities and demonstrate a clear impact on student advancement. Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelors degree with a minimum of5-8 years of progressive professional experience in program management youth development or community engagement of which at least 5 years should be at supervisory or management level.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning assessment and using data to inform decisions and demonstrate program effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale event planning and coordination including budgeting vendor management logistics and risk management.
  • Proven track record in developing and facilitating leadership programs or personal development workshops.
  • Exceptional communication interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with students faculty staff and senior administrators.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and strategic allocation of resources.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese)

Shortlisted candidate will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
