The Community Wellbeing & Social Inclusion Lead designs and delivers culturally grounded programs that strengthen Elders independence connection and wellbeing. The role leads Social Support programs cultural and recreational activities intergenerational programs and Elders Centre operations while overseeing Lifestyle Workers and the Program Support Officer. It ensures Elders experience culturally safe inclusive and meaningful activities aligned with aged care standards and GEGACs One Model of Care.

GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting of about 190 staff GEGAC is a Not-for-Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health Social Services Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC advocates for the self-determination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services that enhance social emotional and spiritual wellbeing with culture at the heart of everything we do.
Position Purpose
The Community Wellbeing & Social Inclusion Lead is responsible for designing coordinating and leading culturally grounded programs that strengthen Elders independence social connection cultural identity and emotional wellbeing.
The role provides leadership across:
Social Support Group (CHSP SaH and HACC PYP)
Social Support Individual (CHSP SaH and HACC PYP)
Elders wellbeing cultural recreational and community programs
Intergenerational activities
Cultural events ceremonies and community outings
Elders centre operations MondayThursday
Oversight of Lifestyle Workers and the Program Support Officer
This position ensures that Elders experience culturally safe inclusive meaningful activities that align with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards wellness and reablement principles and GEGACs One Model of Care.
