As a DevOps Engineer / Consultant at McKee-Nix & Associates you will support both internal operations and potentially digital initiatives for the manufacturers the company represents. Youll design build and maintain infrastructure solutions improve deployment pipelines and help ensure reliability scalability and automation across systems. Youll play a critical role in modernizing processes improving system efficiency and contributing to the companys technical growth.
Key Responsibilities
Design build and maintain automation pipelines (CI/CD) to deploy software and infrastructure.
Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform CloudFormation or similar.
Manage and provision cloud infrastructure or on-prem systems depending on needs.
Monitor system performance and reliability; set up alerting and logging.
Work closely with sales operations and product teams to understand technical requirements for new digital / software-based initiatives.
Automate repetitive tasks to improve operational efficiency.
Ensure system security by implementing DevOps best practices including secure configurations access controls and vulnerability management.
Facilitate collaboration between development teams and operations to align production readiness.
Lead incident management: troubleshoot debug and resolve production issues quickly.
Optimize resource usage and cost through scaling strategies and efficient architecture.
Document infrastructure processes and system design for operations and future engineering reference.
Provide training and mentorship on DevOps practices to team members.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
35 years of experience in DevOps infrastructure engineering or site reliability engineering.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or Google Cloud) or on-prem infrastructure.
Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python Bash etc.).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation).
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins GitLab CI CircleCI etc.).
Strong understanding of system monitoring logging and alerting (e.g. Prometheus Grafana ELK).
Knowledge of containerization (Docker Kubernetes) is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability and system reliability.
Good communication skills; ability to work with non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
