As an Identity & Access Management (IAM) Consultant at McKee-Nix & Associates you will play a critical role in ensuring secure and efficient access to the companys systems applications and data. You will design implement and manage IAM solutions that strengthen security streamline user access workflows and support compliance with internal policies and industry standards. This role requires strong technical expertise analytical thinking and the ability to collaborate across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
Design implement and maintain IAM solutions and workflows including user provisioning access reviews authentication and authorization.
Manage identity lifecycle processes ensuring accurate creation modification and removal of user accounts across systems.
Configure and support role-based access control (RBAC) least privilege models and segregation of duties.
Conduct periodic access audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate IAM tools platforms and technologies; make recommendations for improvements or new solutions.
Work closely with IT security HR and operations teams to ensure seamless and secure access management processes.
Analyze and troubleshoot IAM issues such as access failures provisioning errors or authentication problems.
Maintain documentation for IAM processes procedures standards and system configurations.
Support the implementation and optimization of multi-factor authentication (MFA) single sign-on (SSO) and privileged access management (PAM).
Participate in risk assessments security reviews and internal/external audit activities.
Stay current with identity security trends emerging threats and best practices to strengthen IAM capabilities.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Information Security Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
3 years of experience in IAM cybersecurity or related IT security roles.
Hands-on experience with IAM tools and technologies (e.g. Azure AD Okta AWS IAM Ping Identity).
Solid understanding of authentication protocols such as SAML OAuth and OpenID Connect.
Strong knowledge of identity lifecycle management provisioning de-provisioning and role-based access control.
Experience with MFA SSO and privileged access management solutions.
Familiarity with control standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001 SOC NIST).
Analytical mindset with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Certifications such as IAM Security CISSP or similar are a plus.
