Were seeking for an experienced Senior Sustainability Advisor to join us based out of Auckland region. (This role is a 15 month fixed term - full time position)

Your expert guidance will provide support to our wider business to help fulfil our sustainability obligations and commitments on our projects. You will bring a deep understanding of and genuine passion for environmental stewardship and sustainability with a strong emphasis on carbon reduction waste management and water conservation.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Support the business working under a Sustainability framework (such as ISC) to ensure systems processes and delivery requirements are being met
  • Support the delivery of NZTA Resource Efficiency and Waste Minimisation Plan (REWMP) requirements
  • Work with our external customers and partners to measure and report the required information and drive sustainability and environmental initiatives
  • Work with the National Sustainability Manager to support delivery of national sustainability programmes
  • Develop carbon energy and water models and waste reduction programmes and deliver on reduction targets
  • Support the win-work teams on tender submission bids regarding sustainability
  • Develop tools communication materials and update initiative registers to deliver on sustainable outcomes
  • Prepare reports on the sustainability impacts of activities/projects
  • Develop and deliver sustainability training sessions and presentations
  • Chair and support the Sustainability Working Group
  • Provide communications regarding sustainability successes and areas of focus to the wider team
  • Establish a network of key external partners to drive knowledge sharing and sustainability outcomes across the construction industry
  • Provide technical advice to staff clients members of the public interest groups local iwi regulatory bodies or local government authorities on an as needs basis

Were looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in energy management environmental and sustainability management quantity surveying or accounting
  • Have a minimum of 5 years in the field of sustainability
  • Hold a professional membership e.g. Chartership is advantageous
  • Experience in sustainability reporting frameworks (like ISC or GreenStar and be a current ISAP certified professional) is advantageous
  • Previous experience in the construction sector preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills who is awesome at building relationships and working in a team environment
  • Initiative who can work independently driving strategy and programmes with minimal oversight
