Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA youth aged 16-29 through mental health services social programs and housing. We operate aYouth Drop-In Centre offering barrier-free counselling hot meals and community programming and aTransitional Home providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

What Youll Do:

As amember of theVolunteerPool you willbe offered ad hoc volunteer opportunitieswith Friends of Rubyas they may include but are not limited to administrative tasksand generallabour such asmoving andassemblingitems orunpacking andsorting large donations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respondin a timely mannerto volunteer opportunity postingsthat you are interested in and available for or that have been sent to you directly.
  • Share your weekly availability and any skills that may be relevant to volunteering with Friends of Ruby.
  • Responsibilities for each volunteer opportunity vary and will be shared with you when the volunteer opportunity becomes available.

What Were Looking For:

  • Commitment to social justice anti-racism anti-oppression housing first approach harm reduction approach and trauma-informed care.
  • Strong capability in self-managing workload priorities and correspondence.
