We are seeking two Finance Business Partners to join the Financial Reporting and Planning branch. This permanent opportunity will provide you with excellent opportunities to broaden your finance experience work with a range of stakeholders and develop your business partnering skills.

The roles available within the Finance and Corporate Services Division are:

  • Finance Business Partner (Staff Costs)
  • Finance Business Partner (Non-Staff Costs)


Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Provision of a business partnering function for the organisation through regular strategic engagement with senior leaders and Executive Team ensuring awareness of the in-year and future year financial position of the organisation and wider Scottish Government.
  • Regular review and scrutiny of operational and strategic financial plans across all business areas gaining assurance that value for money is delivered.
  • Provision of expert financial support and advice in the completion of business cases ensuring adherence to organisational and Scottish Government governance arrangements and capturing robust staff and non-staff forecasts.
  • Attendance at strategic governance forums including Strategic Workforce Forum and Finance and Investment Forum providing regular financial updates on the in-year and longer term financial position and providing challenge around the financial impact of future strategic plans.
  • Improve financial awareness and capability across the organisation through the provision of training and the development of necessary tools to enable budget holders to manage their budget effectively.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with various teams across the organisation including Workforce Analytics Strategic Workforce Design Analysis and Insights and Procurement to drive forward strategic change and generate efficiencies.
  • Provide regular strategic financial updates on to Deputy Directors and Senior Leaders to inform and influence decision making. Constructively challenge in year and future year spending plans to ensure forecasts are robust and in line with strategic priorities.


Qualifications

Qualifications
A professional accountancy qualification (CCAB professional accountancy body orCIMA) with up to date Continued Professional Development.

Working Pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location which will be either Glasgow or Dundee. This role is only available to existing permanent civil servants who have successfully completed their probation period within Social Security Scotland or the broader Scottish Government.
