The Controller is responsible for the Revenue Audit Accounting and Count Room.
Qualifications:
- Required degree in accounting or finance.
- Required 5-years experience in financial reporting and general ledger environment.
- Required proficiency with Microsoft Excel and software.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have knowledge of GAAP.
- Preferred familiarity of financial systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Reviews all financial reports generated by the department including but not limited to monthly financial statements reporting required by various notes payable and management agreements.
- Coordinates monthly financial analysis.
- Assists with the assessment of economic impact of proposed transactions.
- Handles construction accounting area so that items are properly accounted for.
- Responsible for interviewing training and selecting employees for the department.
- Conducts performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures; provides feedback; provides coaching and development guidance as needed.
- Reviews analyzes and makes changes with respect to wage increases; promotions; or demotions as needed.
- Responds to and handles employee complaints and grievances in a timely and efficient manner.
- Takes appropriate action when administering disciplinary processes in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for planning supervising and monitoring the work of the team members in assigned area(s).
- Verifies the accuracy of information transmitted to the financial reporting system.
- Directs the count room in a manner that safeguards assets of the company.
- Establishes acceptable accounting procedures and internal controls and assures all external and internal regulations are met.
- Oversees analysis of balance sheet accounts assuring that all accounts are reconciled and balanced monthly.
- Assures that all liabilities are properly reserved for in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensures compliance with Tribal State and Federal regulatory reporting requirements.
- Specifically supervises the Accounts Payable and Payroll processes
- Develops implements and monitors systems to audit organizations compliance with existing and established company policies and procedures Tribal State and Federal laws regulations and agreements.
- Evaluates and communicates income control violations to the operating areas and implement correctional courses of action; ensuring compliance with existing internal and external income control policies and procedures pertaining to one or more operational areas.
- Assembles audits posts and prepares various detailed accounting reports for departmental review and/or incorporate audit information into more complex reports including month-end general ledger posting according to established policies and procedures.
- All team members will follow the Everyone Greets Everyone (EGE) policy. It is the expectation that every team member front or back of house should proactively seek out opportunities to greet guests and their fellow team members daily. - Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and complies with all state federal and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule including holidays nights and weekends as needed.
- Must be able to work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
