In this position you will work at the Institute of Human Biology (IHB) a newly formed institute whose goal is to disrupt the traditional drug discovery process through innovation focused on improving our ability to use predictive human model systems. Learn more about the Institute: team aims to develop next-generation realistic human organ models accurately recreating in vivo tissue complexity intricate spatial organization of organ-specific cell types and integration with advanced microfluidic organ- on-chip systems for homeostasis organ-function modeling and long-term culture.
As a Research Associate you will work in a cross-functional team to maintain and further develop next-generation human organoids and organs- on-a-chip systems.
This role is technical and involves the daily fabrication of hydrogels and microfluidic chips for various research and development projects. We are looking for a technician who is comfortable with technical and often repetitive tasks that require attention to detail and strict adherence to protocols. The position offers a unique opportunity to delve into cutting-edge bioengineering technologies learn about stem cells organoids tissue engineering and hydrogel chemistry and contribute to 3R efforts in pharmaceutical research.
Support organ-on-chip fabrication and tissue bioengineering for various research projects.
Manufacturing microfluidic chips and maintaining organoid cultures.
Independent communication with other departments.
Report experimental results to project manager in a timely manner.
The position required the following qualifications
Bachelors degree in biology chemistry material science micro- (bio-) engineering or related field.
Eager to learn new technologies in bioengineering hydrogel chemistry and stem cell organoids culture
You are detail-oriented and precise in handling technical processes.
Work experience in wet lab with biosafety levels 1 and 2 with cells cultures.
Enthusiastic team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
