Job Summary

Working in the Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS the Senior Program Manager Community Engagement will engage in a dynamic role reporting to the Director Care Innovation & Integration and is responsible for providing compassionate support meaningful connections and resources to enhance the quality of life of individuals with ALS and their families and caregivers. This role involves close collaboration with caregivers community partners key stakeholders and internal departments to enhance caregiver support services and promote community engagement for clinical care research participation and philanthropy. This role is designed to complement the work of the medical team by addressing the personal emotional and community-based needs that extend beyond clinical care.

The Program Manager Community Engagement will serve as a compassionate bridge between the clinic and the ALS community providing non-clinical support that enhances quality of life for patients and families. This role will work to foster connections belonging and hope by offering a listening ear developing educational resources creating opportunities for community engagement and collaborating with ALS organizations locally and globally. By amplifying patient and family voices as well as those from the internal clinic team and sharing best practices across the ALS landscape this position will ensure the clinic remains a source of comfort innovation and unity on a multitude of levels while ensuring that no one walks the ALS journey alone.


Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key member of the Healey Center strategic leadership team assists with developing strategy goals and implementation of community engagement initiatives
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for ALS patients and families offering guidance empathy and support in a non-clinical capacity.
  • Build and nurture a strong connected community of ALS-impacted individuals and families creating opportunities for peer-to-peer support and shared understanding.
  • Develop and distribute educational resources tailored to patients and their families to help each navigate the complexities of ALS with greater clarity confidence hope and empowerment.
  • Develop organize and facilitate community programming including seminars workshops meet-ups and special events that foster education connection and hope.
  • Collaborate with ALS researchers clinicians and care providers to ensure families are aware of available resources both within the clinic and across the broader ALS community.
  • Partner with ALS organizations locally and globally to foster unity share best practices and strengthen collaboration across the ALS landscape.
  • Leads program and engagement teams and coordinates and delegates community initiatives.
  • Represent the clinic at conferences and professional gatherings sharing the clinics initiatives while learning from others to incorporate new approaches and innovations.
  • Advocate on behalf of the ALS community as well as the clinic amplifying patient and family voices while strengthening the clinics role as both a source of comfort and a leader in engagement.
  • Utilize brand management skills to ensure the clinic is shown and represented cohesively across channels.
  • Partner with the development and leadership team to lead key events to bring the community together while raising critical funds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors Degree Related Field of Study required and Masters Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Experience: Program management experience 8-10 years required and Team leadership experience 1-2 years required

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES:

  • Deep commitment to serving the ALS community with empathy compassion respect and understanding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide comfort and build trust with individuals and families during challenging times.
  • Proven experience in leadership community building program development or patient/family support services.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with medical teams researchers nonprofit organizations and advocacy groups locally nationally and internationally when needed.
  • Creative and resourceful in developing educational materials engagement opportunities and collaborative initiatives.
  • This role is not only about engagement - it is about creating an even greater sense of belonging meaning unity and hope for every individual and family touched by ALS while helping the clinic build upon its already strong connection with and beloved standing within the ALS community.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Clinical outpatient hospital and clinical research environment. May require travel.
