The Opportunity:
Saint Lukes Hospital is seeking an experienced liver transplant Coordinator Registered nurse to join the transplant team. The liver transplant coordinator serves as a member of the transplant team and collaborates with the transplant physician specialists surgeons and APPs for inpatient and outpatient pre/post-transplant patient care. Saint Lukes hospital is a magnet designated facility with Level One trauma center Comprehensive Stroke Center and nationally ranked in the top 25 hospitals for Cardiology and Heart Surgery. This location has been recognized byU.S. News & World Reportas one of the elite hospitals in the nation.
Makes recommendations for policy and protocol changes based upon literature review.
Partner with 3rd party transplant coordination team to take backup call for donor organs and to help coordinates the processes for successful transplantations.
Coordinates multi-disciplinary evaluation and update of candidates by incorporating current transplant standards of care.
Actively participates in patient selection committee and makes recommendation to team for candidacy.
Responsible for wait list management of listed patients.
