The Electrified Propulsion Engineering (EPE) organization is responsible for delivering the best fuel economy and refined Hybrid Plug-in Hybrid and Electric vehicles in every segment in which we contend. We strive to consistently provide the best customer vehicle value and profitability while delivering performance durability and fuel economy/range objectives. Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Responsible for cooling design of electric motors for Electric Vehicle applications

  • Create thermal models for electric motors based on operating conditions and cooling method

  • Perform thermal analysis and design optimization

  • Work with electrical design engineer to finalize electro-magnetic design

  • Work with CAD designers to develop prints for all mechanical parts

  • Work with transmission design team to define cooling method and cooling demand for electric motors.

  • Develop cooling system for electric motor test housing for dyno tests.

  • Build test and evaluate electric motor prototypes



Qualifications

Youll have...

  • B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • 2 years of experience in electric motor cooling design and thermal analysis.

  • 2 years of experience with FEA package for thermal analysis.

Even better you may have...

  • M.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • 5 years of experience in electric motor cooling design and thermal analysis.

  • Powertrain D&R experience with mechanical design background.

  • Knowledge of GD&T tolerance stack-up and statistics.

  • 5 years of experience with FEA package for thermal analysis.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Excellent communication skills

This position is a range of salary grades 6 - 8
